Souvenir pictures tell us what happened in the past. It is inside family albums that I find the special moments of my existence. I can see how I have changed together with the world around me and I can feel the continuous flow of life.
By freezing the image, sometimes photography also freezes the perception of our identity and of other people’s identity, and the relationship with our image or role becomes difficult.
This is the idea at the basis of my project, in which I assembled pictures of me and my mother when we were about the same age.
I have built new narratives and new, incredible ways of interpreting myself and the relationship with my mother. I have (re)built possible and impossible stories, as many as the identities and the life experiences to represent. I put on theater pieces.
