Judy Weiser: “An Experiential Educational Workshop about PhotoTherapy Techniques: how photographs can be used to improve the understanding and personal/social change”

Accademia di Belle Arti P. Vannucci – P.zza S. Francesco al Prato n. 5

An Experiential Educational Workshop about PhotoTherapy Techniques and their Usefulness in Social Action or Participatory-Photography Projects and Self-Exploration Activities

Learn how photographs can create meaning, may connect with the feelings, contain secrets, activate memories and tell their stories when used as tools for social action, for therapy, or as activities aimed at increasing the well-being and reduce social exclusion

This Workshop (“Master Class”) taught by Canadian psychologist and art therapist Judy Weiser (considered the world expert in “PhotoTherapy Techniques”) will provide opportunities for you to learn by personal experience with photos (using your own and other people’s pictures) about the theory underlying the techniques of PhotoTherapy and how this explains the success of using photo-based activities in social action or participatory-photography research projects — or for personal self-exploration.

This Workshop is about the “heart” part of photos, rather than their “art” part.

Open to everyone, including mental health professionals, photographers, social action project workers, participatory photography researchers, educators, students, and anyone else who is interested
